Private beta — mactooloud is mixing.
First private-beta build of mactooloud. The full mixer, auto-duck, Mystery Sound Finder, Whisper Mode, per-app device routing, and saved audio profiles are in. We're opening invites slowly while we sand down the rough edges before a public release.
- NewPer-app volume sliders in the menu bar. Every audio-producing app on your Mac gets its own row with a live waveform and a slider — and only the apps actually making sound show up.
- NewMaster output picker in the main row and menu bar widget. Switching outputs flips the macOS system default and pulls the master slider to the new device's actual volume.
- NewPer-app device routing. Send Zoom to AirPods, Spotify to desk speakers, FaceTime to your USB headset. Routes survive slider movement and persist across app restarts.
- NewAuto-Duck on calls. Triggers: Zoom, Meet, FaceTime, Discord, Slack huddles, Microsoft Teams. Targets: every other audio app. Configurable threshold, ducking amount, and release time.
- NewMystery Sound Finder. Surfaces every audio-producing process plus the specific tab inside Chrome, Safari, Arc, and Edge (read-only — click to bring the tab forward).
- NewWhisper Mode. One tap drops every app to 5%. Tap again to restore.
- NewSaved audio profiles. Save a "deep work" preset, a "meeting" preset, a "gaming" preset — pick between them from the menu bar. Every slider, mute state, and per-app route is restored in one click.
- NewPomodoro focus timer. 25-on / 5-off by default, fully configurable, with optional volume cues at phase transitions.
- NewSleep timer with a master fade so audio drops gently when you nod off.
- NewHeadphone-disconnect → pause. Yank AirPods out and music pauses; intentional output switches don't.
- NewNo driver. No installer. Built on macOS 14.4's Process Tap API — the engine lives inside the app, not in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL.
- NewApple Silicon native, hardened-runtime signed (Developer ID).
